My name is Lucie Consentino. I was a LeBlanc before I married. My mother was a Levesque. My grandmother was a Dumais(also Dumas/Demers). Therefore, I am of French Canadian heritage on my mother's side but I am also of Acadian heritage on my father's side.

Since you have come here, you must want to get to know more about our family roots but first let me share a bit about our own little family right now. I hope you will feel the warmth and love with which I welcome you to my favorite place to sit... chat... reflect... pray and enjoy my family and friends... my back porch Chairsitting in my favorite chair and enjoying the view of our beautiful backyard! So please pull up a chair and make yourself at home.

My desire to serve Jesus Christ and Mary our Mother goes all the way back to when I was a little girl. That has always been a burning desire for me. While growing up in the Catholic Church, I thought the only way that would be possible was if I became a member of a Religious Community. With time, the Lord would teach me differently but until then this is how my life unfolded.

At age 18, when I graduated from St. Anne's High School, I entered the convent. During my novitiate, my father, died and I then felt I should return home to help my mom. So I did that. A few years later, after I thought Mom could take care of things herself, I left to become a lay missionary as a member of a Secular Institute. Through this apostolate my missionary work began in Massachusetts, and brought me to Eastern Canada, Maine, Pennsylvania, Texas and and Western Canada. I have worked with the Mexicans, the Canadian Indians and the Eskimos. Through the grace of God mine has been a life rich in ministry, spirituality, as well as the ups and downs of the Journey we all come to experience.

After seven years, it was time once again to return home to help my mother. Over the years, God has lead me to interesting and challenging types of work. I have been a Human Resources Administrator, a Teacher, and finally I have worked the last several years as a Chaplain in a parish, visiting the sick, the dying, the elderly and everything connected to such a ministry. In addition, a food pantry ~ Mémère's Pantry (French for grandmother) for the elderly homebound was organized, a support group for primary caregivers ~ Heart to heart and Visitors to the Sick were trained and organized. All of this has enriched my life a hundredfold in ways I would have never imagined. But the role that has challenged me mostly, has been most fulfiling, and that I love most of all is that of homemaker and mom!... and rightly so, since that is the vocation God had for me in life. Then follows the ministry as a close second!

My husband Anthony and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary on September 1st, 1999.

My husband and I married later in life and we believe that God blessed us in an extra special way in having given us two very lovely and loving daughters! What a blessing they have been to us from the moment they were born to the very present!!

Both have been Presidential Scholars ~ these scholarships are based on high school GPA and SAT scores (hope you don't mind if I brag a bit...). Rebecca graduated with a Degree in Communications with minors in Speech, Theater and Music from Emmanuel College on May 16th,1998. She has just completed her graduate studies in January 2000 in Communications Research with at the University on a Fellowship. She landed a great job as a project manager and after eight months at this job, she got a call from Emmanuel College offering her a teaching position and she now works in the English Department.

Rebecca was married September 30, 2000, to Tyler Hains of Utah. Tyler graduated from M.I.T. in June 2000 as is a computer engineer working for a company that manufactures parts for hybrid cars.

Meanwhile, Sarah graduated from Emmanuel College in May 2001 and was class Commencement Speaker. She graduated at the top of her class. She now has a wonderful position at a Boston hospital as a writer for the publication. By the way, Emmanuel was the first Catholic Women's College in the area and celebrated its 75th anniversary seven years ago.

It has been a busy life working full time as a Chaplain and raising a family. I left full time ministry and I enjoy doing genealogical research. I am sure that all of my previous experience in dealing with people and in admistrative capacities will be invaluable in my future endeavors.

My favorite loves are my God, my family, my country and music has always played a very big part in our lives. However, Genealogy now plays a very large part in the scheme of things!! Now it pretty much comes in with my love of family of course! Tony has his Master's Degree in Music; Sarah and Rebecca are Sopranos and they also play the piano. I've been singing since I was a little girl. I credit my mother with developing that gift in my life. Mom loved to sing and there wasn't a song I couldn't sing as a child. I have tried to impart the same to our daughters as has my husband. I also play the guitar and anything that doesn't require a degree. It is in that context that the rest follows.

Garden Gate I love my back porch and my yard because I have spent much time there with God whether planting flowers, working in my yard, or just sitting there to pray, relax and reflect. As we prepared for Rebecca's bridal shower held her at the family home, extra love went into preparing the yard... I planted 60 large mum plants and gave the lawn lots of TLC. Of course, the fact that it hasn't been a very hot summer here has helped to keep the lawns nice and green. No stress or dormancy from summer heat.

At other times, that's where all the family gatherings take place... where we've had all of our Christening parties, Birthday parties, First Communion parties, Confirmation and Graduation parties and cookouts. We've now added the Bridal Shower to this list. :o)

Bird House

I also love nature: I love to feed the birds and yes, even the squirrels and chipmunks! The red Cardinal has been a particular sign of God's presence for me and so I am happy to share that the appearance of one in our yard fills me with special joy! Too, I have owned a dog most of my life. I have had a Beagle named Queenie, a Chow mix named Pitou (was supposed to be Prince but my French Canadian "Mémère" nicknamed him), a Border Collie named Princess, a Poodle named Benji and finally we had a Chitzu-Poo named Punky. Do you think I like dogs? Indeed I do!

Punky

I understand that Punky's
ancestors came from China and were the
preferred pets of Emperors

Well that brings you up to date with who I am and where I'm at at this time in my life. Anything else that you might want to know about me is self-descriptive as you surf my website. I stand against abortion and physician assisted suicide; I stand against violence of all kinds but especially against children and women and animals. I thank God for the freedom we enjoy in this wonderful country calledAmerica! We should all be grateful to the men and women who have fought and those who have died to keep our wonderful country free. I am proud to say that my husband is a Navy Veteran.

And how about you? If you have a website, please send me your url or email address.

Thanks for dropping by and hope you will come to visit again.
