ST-ANDRÉ,
Kamouraska, Québec
Some of my Ancestors were married, worshiped,
baptized their children and are buried here. Others
worshiped in other churches of the Kamouraska region.
Many of my Lévesque ancestors worshiped in Rivière-Ouelle
where our first ancestors Robert Lévesque and Jeanne Chevalier
were married, lived and are buried. My great grandparents
Etienne Lévesque and Philomène Raymond dit Phocas had married
in the Kamouraska region. This meant that her husband Etienne
left Rivière-Ouelle to marry her. Later, they immigrated to
Lawrence, Massachusetts with three of their children. It is
here that their son, my grandfather Etienne, Jr.
married my grand-mother Arthémise Dumais
in Ste-Anne Church.
STE-ANASTASIE DE LYSTER
It is here that my grandmother, Arthémise Dumais
who married Etienne Lévesque was Baptized in 1875
as well as all of her siblings also in the 1870's.
Her grandparents and her parents had
come to Ste-Anastasie from the Kamouraska region.
From here, her parents brought their
family to Lawrence, Massachusetts.
