Arrival of the Acadians in Massachusetts

Six ships deported the Acadians to Massachusetts. The Ship Helena left Annapolis Royal on October 27, 1755 arriving in Massachusetts on January 5, 1756 with 323 Acadians aboard.

The Schooner Race Horse left Pointe des Boudrots on December 20, 1755 arriving in Massachusetts on December 26, 1755 with 120 Acadians aboard.

The Sloop Seaflower left Pisiquid on October 27, 1755 arriving in Massachusetts on November 15, 1755 with 206 Acadians aboard.

The Brigantine Swallow left Pointe des Boudrots on December 13, 1755 arriving in Massachusetts on January 2, 1756 with 236 Acadians aboard.

The Sloop Vulture left Port Latour date unknown arriving in Massachusetts May 10, 1756 with 72 Acadians aboard.

The Sloop Eagle left Halifax on April 1, 1756 arriving in Massachusetts on May 29, 1756 with 4 Acadians aboard.

Another Joseph LANOUE, s/o Pierre/Marie GRANGER, m. to Marguerite BELLIVEAU, d/o Charles/Marie MELANSON. Six sons, one daughter born between 1726-1743. Deported to New England 1755 and returned to Laprairie 1772. Joseph died at St-Philippe 1792.

Philippe THIBODEAU, s/o Pierre/Anne BOURG, m. to Isabelle VINCENT. Children: François (ca. 1715; Charles (1723); Amand (1727). From l'Assomption, Québec and Piziquid. Deported to Boston with family.

Charles TRAHANT, s/o Joseph/Elizabeth TERRIOT, m. to Marie-Anne LADRY. Children: Madeleine (1751); Grégoire (1752); Marguerite (ca. 1756); Joseph (ca. 1758); Jean-Baptiste (ca. 1760); Marie (ca. 1761); anne (ca. 1765); Etienne (1768). At Concord, Massachusetts 1755 and Yamachiche, Québec 1767. All children married at Yamachiche except Grégoire who married Marguerite BOURG at Philadelphia in 1775. Grégoire enrolled in the U.S. Army. Descendants spell surname as STRAHAN.

Children: Paul (1748); Françoise (1750); augustin (1751); Jean-Baptiste (1753); Marguerite (1754); Joseph (1756); Elizabeth (1758); Charles (1763); Marie (1764); Pierre-Sylvain (1767); Simon-Pierre (1768); Norbert (1771). Deported to New England 1755 and settled at St-Sulpice and l'Acadie, Québec. Augustin married at Montréal 1744 to Marguerite DUBEAU and was first settle of St-Anicet.

Possibly François LEBLANC, s/o François/Marguerite BOUDROT, m. to Isabelle (Elizabeth) DUGAS. Children: Marie (1739); Elizabeth (1744); François (1747); Jean-Batiste (ca. 1749); Marguerite (ca. 1750); Françoise (1756); Pierre (1758); anne (1760); Madeleine (1764). Deported to Massachusetts 1755 and at l'Assomption, Québec 1770.. François died at St-Jacques l'Achigan 1790.
